In the thermal image, different temperatures are represented by different colours. The different colour schemes of the GTC 600 C help to visualise the measured information better. The Iron color palette is suitable for an intuitive recognition of the temperature distribution whereas the Rainbow palette illustrates minimal temperature differences through high contrasts.

The GTC continuously optimizes the infrared image read from the sensor to achieve the best achievable quality. This is done by a regular automatic “sensor calibration” which results in a short pause of the continuous measurement. During this short period, the display shows “sensor calibration”.
The GTC can be connected to a computer via the tool internal USB interface. The GTC is connected as an external drive, similar to a USB flash drive.
The GTC saves a thermal image ("X"), a visual image ("Y") in parallel. In addition the GTC 600 C saves (if recorded) a voice note ("Z").
Glossy surfaces are an indicator of a low emission value of the material. Measurements of such surfaces without adjusting the emissivity and background temperature would lead to unreliable values.
To measure reflective surfaces, it is recommended to apply a matt piece of tape to the area to be measured. Afterwards, approx. 20 seconds are needed for the tape to adapt to the surface temperature. Then the measurement can be taken without distortion due to low emissivity.
